Off-Beat Haiku and Tanka II

heartbreak;
never so much as
when hearing

your footsteps under
my neighbor’s window
.
3/2013

      voices loud
      singing a haiku.
      summer laughs.

      1/2011
            when even
            cicadas find love
            tonight,
            no breeze comes to stir
            my bedroom curtains.
            6/2013

in the rain
frogs croaking outside
my window.

In memorial of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami:

in the dirt,
she draws the outline
of her house.

tears water the weeds
where once children played.

        butterfly,
        stopping to drink from
        my peach tree.
